According to the report, the Chinese Academy of Sciences said that the COS system is a strategic product to maintain national security. After the US surveillance scandal and Microsoft announced that it will stop providing further support for Windows XP, China urgently needs such an independently developed operating system. The article said that at present, there are many problems in the security of open source-based operating systems. The operating system dominated by foreign companies has the situation of “acclimatization”, and the emergence of COS will solve both problems at the same time.
