Jiangmen LED output value increased by nearly 50% last year

Yesterday, the 2011 LED Lighting Industry Development Summit Forum of Guangdong Province and the Guangdong Lighting Association Annual Meeting were held in Jiangmen. More than 350 lighting companies in the province attended the forum. Experts from South China University of Technology and Guangzhou University expressed their opinions on the hot issues in the industry, such as the problems and countermeasures of LED brand building.

The relevant person at the Provincial Economic and Information Commission stated at the meeting that the country will formulate measures to phase out incandescent lamps and promote energy-saving lamps. According to experts, it is expected that since 2011, the country will ban the sale and import of incandescent lamps over 100 watts. Since 2014, LED will directly compete with traditional light sources such as energy-saving lamps and other high-efficiency light sources. It is expected that LED lighting products will be available in 2012. Began to enter the general lighting field in China, applied in places such as high-end hotels, office buildings, and hospitals. The promotion and application of LED has put forward higher requirements for the LED industry, and has also given LED a greater space for development.

The reporter also learned at the meeting that the LED industry in Jiangmen City was stimulated by the preferential policies and support measures introduced by the municipal government and achieved rapid development. In 2010, the output value reached 13.698 billion yuan, an increase of 44% over the previous year.
