Lighting standards for civil construction electric vehicle charging workplaces

Recently, I studied the design specifications of electric vehicle charging facilities for civil buildings in a province, which was very inspiring and benefited a lot. Among them, the illuminance standard value of the charging facility workplace is shown in Table 1, which is worthy of recognition.

Table 1 Illumination standard values of the charging facility workplace

Note: The operating surface of charging equipment such as AC charging piles and off-board chargers needs to increase the local illumination by 200lx. For example, the charging device operating surface comes with a backlight (such as a touch liquid crystal display with a backlight) to increase the local illumination.

During the study, the author has some experience and shared with you.

1, the distribution room

The lighting standard of the power distribution room is consistent with the "Architectural Lighting Design Standard" GB 50034-2013, which is more reasonable.

2, monitoring room

The lighting standard of the monitoring room is consistent with the general control room in the Architectural Lighting Design Standard GB 50034-2013, which is understandable.

However, for the monitoring room of the charging host system, it is recommended to treat it differently. It is best to use the main control room lighting standard in GB 50034, that is, the illuminance standard value of the 0.75m horizontal plane is 500lx; the glare requirement is higher, and the uniform glare index UGR value is not low. At 19; color rendering and illumination uniformity are the same as in the general control room. Because the charging host system adopts a server-like cabinet setting, the capacity is large, the control is complicated and important, and the lighting level of the monitoring room needs to be improved.

3, charging equipment room

The illuminance standard of the charging equipment room is 300lx. Since there are no other standards for reference, the lighting standards from the similar places of GB 50034 can be referenced and compared.

Power equipment room: 200lx

Generator room: 200lx

Fan room: 100lx

Air-conditioned room: 100lx

Pump room: 100lx

Freezing station: 150lx

Compressed air station: 150lx

Boiler room: 100lx

Gas station operation layer: 100lx

It can be seen that the illumination of most computer rooms is between 100lx and 200lx. Therefore, the standard value of the illumination of the charging equipment room seems to be somewhat high, and 200lx is more suitable.

4, charging area

The illuminance standard value of the charging area is 50lx, and the standard value of the charging area illuminance specified in the national standard "Design Specification for Electric Vehicle Charging Station" GB 50966-2014 is 100lx. In addition, the illumination standard of the vehicle fuel station specified in the "Architectural Lighting Design Standard" GB 50034-2013 is 100lx. The gas station and the charging area are places for supplementing energy for the vehicle and can be used as a reference for the charging area. Therefore, the illuminance standard value of the charging area should be the same as that of the power supply equipment room, both of which are electric energy places, that is, the illuminance standard value of the charging area is 100 lx.

In addition, the note in Table 1, that is, the operation surface of the charging device such as the AC charging post and the off-board charger, needs to increase the local illumination by 200 lx. If the illumination standard value of the 100 lx charging zone is used, it is not necessary to add local illumination.

5 Conclusion

In summary, the adjusted lighting standard values are shown in Table 2:

Battery Cable

Over time, battery cables have to be replaced due to corrosion or damage. A bad battery cable can cause intermittent starting issues or lack of power to the vehicle, including arcing or power drains.A battery cable consists of multiple stands of wire encased in synthetic material with different types of battery terminals on each end for a reliable connection. Corrosion is the number one cause of battery cable failure, stopping the flow of electricity.
