NetTAP Universal Gateway
I. Product Introduction
netTAP (shown in Figure 1) is a gateway that supports the translation of two industrial communication protocols. It has two communication interfaces, one is the front-end connection port on the body, and the other is through the communication cable. NetTAP can support device interconnects for various protocols: serial and fieldbus devices, serial and real-time Ethernet devices, fieldbus and real-time Ethernet devices.

Modbus to DP Universal Gateway Application Note
In order to make users better understand this product, we set up an experimental platform based on the NT30-DPS-RS2 product (Profibus-DP fieldbus to serial port) in this series of gateways, and details the use of this product.
First, the experimental purpose Through NT 30-DPS-RS2, realizes the data communication between Profibus DP field bus and PC serial port.

Fourth, netTAP configuration software SYCON.net installation
(1) Install the CD-ROM installed with the NT 30-DPS-RS2 product into the CD-ROM drive, open the CD-ROM, and perform the configuration software installation;

(2) Double-click "SYCONnet netTAP setup.exe";

(3) Select the language for software installation. Currently the software does not support Chinese, click "OK";

(4) Enter the corresponding user information and click "Next";

(5) After the software is installed, “SYCON.net†will be launched, and the password will be required. If no password is required, click “OK†directly. When you open “SYCON.net†later, you will be required to enter the password. If you do not have a password, click “OKâ€.
Fifth, system configuration
NetTAP configuration
1, start Sycon.Net, create a new project, on the right will display all models of NetTAP products, find the corresponding model to the middle of the green line, as shown below

2. Double-click the small red box to open the configuration window. To configure NetTAP, first download a firmware to NetTAP. According to the different needs of users, you can select different firmware to download. The latest firmware can be downloaded from WWW.hilscher.com website. .
3, after the firmware download is complete, you can configure it accordingly, this experiment is to achieve DP to Modbus RTU Slave, the following figure is the "Modbus" table configuration;

4. Configure the "MODULES" table to add modules based on their own requirements. At most, only 122 input words and 122 output words can be added. In this experiment, 5 input words and 5 output words are added, as shown in the figure below.

5, configure the "COMMAND" table, the user can configure different commands according to their own needs, detailed configuration, please refer to the manual DpMbr_en.pdf on the accompanying CD, this experiment only read and write analog, as shown below, The switch configuration is similar.

10, to this NetTAP configuration is complete, click "OK", select the menu "DEVICE" - "CONNECT", and then select "DOWNLOAD", download the configuration to NetTAP.
Note: If the configuration is completely correct, the three indicators of RDY, RUN, and STA of NetTAP should be always on and the CPU indicator should be normal.
Master configuration:
1. Start SETP7, add the GSD file of NT 30-DPS to SETP7, and configure and configure. The configuration of this experiment is shown in the following figure;

2. After the configuration is complete, you can save the download to the CPU.
Note: The BUS address to be configured here must be consistent with the dialing address on the gateway.
6. Communication Test Start MODBUS simulation software “Modbus 32 Simulator†in another PC. The parameters are set to 9600, 8, N, and 1. Note that the parameter settings must be consistent with the configuration parameters in NetTAP.
