Many people don't know what the specific cause of LED display module chip failure is. This kind of situation is not uncommon in LED display products. The most common situation is that the driver chip or the constant voltage driver chip of the entire LED display module will burn at the same time, or the individual row driver tube chips will be burned. So what are the reasons for this situation ? The LED display manufacturers have the following reasons for the reasons:

First, the power supply of the display is reversed

For normal LED display products, the power supply terminal position will have the VCC and GND marks, or the "+" and "-" marks, which represent the wiring positions of the positive and negative terminals, respectively. However, based on the lack of basic knowledge of electrical and electronic equipment, it is very likely that the positive and negative poles of the power supply will be reversed, and even qualified technicians may have operational errors. Reversing the positive and negative poles of the power supply will cause most of the constant voltage driving chips on the module to be seriously damaged or even burned.

Second, the module is abnormal and the line is always bright.

   It is very common for the LED display to appear a line of dark lines and bright lines, most of which are caused by abnormal wiring contact or error in debugging parameters. In general, well-designed LED display products will better avoid the protection circuit that is bright and bright. After the line height is abnormally over-bright, if it is not eliminated in time, the row driver chip of the module will burn and destroy due to continuous high current operation and sharp rise in temperature. Of course, if compared with the previous cases, the current LED display module, the drive power of the row driver chip will be relatively low, and the maximum operating current of most row driver chips will not exceed 4A . The possibility of the module driving the chip to burn out due to the constant brightness of the module is relatively small.

Third, the power supply voltage of the LED module is too large

Generally , the rated working voltage of the LED display module is normally 4V-6V . The maximum limit working voltage of the integrated chip on the module is not higher than 8V under normal conditions , and the maximum reverse voltage of the LED tube is below 8V . Therefore, the supply voltage of 8V or more will definitely damage the integrated chip and the LED tube. When the voltage reaches more than 8V , the conventional constant voltage driving chip will start to heat up rapidly and is very likely to burn. Under normal circumstances, when the voltage exceeds 10-11V , it will continue to be energized for about 2 seconds, and the chip will burn to different degrees. Since the LED display output voltage is 5V constant voltage switching power supply, the possibility of overvoltage is not great. Even if the control circuit of the switching power supply fails, the possibility that the output voltage is abnormal and reaches 9V or more is negligible. Therefore, in the process of actual application, the cause of the chip burning and burning is more or less positive or negative, followed by the module abnormality, and the voltage is too large.
