Recently, Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE stock code: VSH) announced that its PLTT precision low TCR high temperature thin film resistors are now available in 0805, 1206, 2010 and 2512 form factors, the resistance range is extended to 250Ω ~ 3MΩ, and can provide non- Standard resistance value.

The PLTT resistor operates over a temperature range of -55°C to +215°C, which is nearly 100°C higher than conventional thin film resistors . The device features a standard TCR as low as ±5 ppm/°C with tolerances as low as ±0.02%, noise below -35dB, and voltage factors as low as 0.1ppm/V. The PLTT has a power rating of 250mW to 1000mW and can operate in the voltage range of 100V to 200V.


The resistor uses a stable film with a performance characteristic of 500ppm after 2000 hours at +215°C, optimized for low noise and single signal processing that requires low offset and temperature drift in high temperature environments, including drilling applications, High-precision oil and gas exploration, as well as telecommunications and industrial equipment.

The PLTT uses a high-purity ceramic substrate with a 10μin to 20μin gold termination on the nickel gate for high-temperature HMP soldering and enhanced with a corrosion-resistant special passivation method (SPM). The resistors comply with the halogen-free regulations of RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC and IEC 61249-2-21 and have a fire rating of UL 94 V-0.

Samples of the enhanced PLTT resistors are available now and are in volume production. The standard lead times are available from ten weeks to twelve weeks.
