Vishay Releases 6 Green Optocoupler Devices A few days ago, Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. Announced six low-input currents with phototransistor outputs, optocouplers in DIP-4, SSOP-4 half-pitch miniflat, and SOP-4L extended miniflat packages - VO617A, VO618A, VOL617A, VOL618A, VOS618A and VOS628A expand their optoelectronic product portfolio. The new optocoupler has excellent isolation performance and can guarantee the safety of people and equipment.

The VO617A and VO618A devices are available in DIP-4 packages and feature excellent high-temperature performance with isolation voltages up to 5000VRMS for switching power supplies. With a 5mA input drive current, the VO617A's current transfer ratio (CTR) can reach 40% to 320%, and the VO618A can achieve the same performance with a drive current of 1mA. The creepage distance of products using option 6 is greater than 8mm.

The VOL617A and VOL618A optocouplers are available in a low-profile (2mm) SOP-4L package with creepage distances greater than 8mm and isolation voltages up to 5000VRMS. The CTR range of the VOL617A and VOL618A can reach 40% to 320%, and the input drive current is 5mA and 1mA, respectively, which is suitable for AC adapters.

The VOS618A and VOS628A are available in a small SSOP-4 package with an isolation voltage of 3750VRMS and are suitable for programmable logic controllers and industrial automation applications. At a low input drive current of 1mA, the CTR of these devices is between 63% and 320%. Lower input current reduces heat generation and adapts to the industry's trend to develop lower power products.

The V0617A, VO618A, VOL617A, and VOL618A optocouplers are manufactured using environmentally friendly "green" molded composites.

The new optocoupler is sampling now and has been in volume production. The lead time for large orders is six weeks to eight weeks.
