Ceramic Capacitors: CeraLink® Series Expansion Products

The TDK Group has recently introduced CeraLink® series capacitor expansion products based on PLZT (lead-doped zirconium titanate). Today, this low profile (LP type) product for surface mount soldering is available in 500V/1μF and 700V/0.5μF versions, featuring significant size and compact features such as L-type terminals. The size is only 10.84mm x 7.85mm x 4mm. The compact construction and maximum withstand temperature of up to 150 °C allow the capacitor to be embedded directly into the IGBT module as an absorbing capacitor.

The new product structure with J-type terminal is more compact and the size is only 7.14mmx7.85mmx4mm. There is also a significant advantage in the equivalent inductance (ESL) of the Ceralink LP series as low as 2.5nH.

CeraLink Solder Foot Capacitors (SP) provide higher capacitance values ​​for capacitors up to 20μF and 10μF for products rated at 500V and 700V. The series' equivalent inductance (ESL) is also as low as 3.5nH.

CeraLink capacitors have low parasitics and are ideal for converter topology based on fast switching semiconductors such as GaN or SiC. Compared to conventional capacitor technology, this capacitor has very low voltage overshoot and transient oscillation. For applications with special requirements in terms of size, current capacity and high temperature resistance, CeraLink capacitors can easily meet customer requirements.
