Flat panel display industry in China is still climbing

The development of the flat panel display industry in China continues to be good, the industrial scale has been steadily improved, the industrial chain has been increasingly perfected, and industrial agglomeration has gradually taken shape. As the industry grows, industry standards become more important. With the country's attention, China's flat panel display industry related standards committee will soon be established.

Recently, the National Standards Committee recently approved the plan to establish a National Standardization Technical Committee for Flat Panel Display Devices, and agreed to establish the National Standardization Technical Committee for Flat Panel Display Devices. This means that China's flat panel display industry will have more standardized development environment and industry standards in the future.

In recent years, the flat panel display industry in China has continued to grow rapidly. Relevant data show that in 2013, China's flat panel display industry represented by LCD panels reached 107 billion yuan, an increase of 44.6% year-on-year, and its global market share has increased to 11.4%. The output of LCD panels was 20.88 million square meters, an increase of 27% year-on-year, and the sales volume was 20.85 million square meters. It is estimated that by 2015 China will build nine 8.5-generation LCD panel production lines, surpassing Taiwan in China and becoming the world’s second largest flat panel display production base.

At the same time, China's mainland flat panel display industry is still in a period of climbing, compared with Japan, South Korea and China's Taiwan, there is still a certain gap. Especially in terms of high-end panel products, China's technology level and production capacity are still relatively weak, and high-end panel products are still mainly imported. In addition, China is also faced with unfavorable factors such as the continuous decline in panel prices, operating pressure, changes in the demand for end products leading to a major adjustment in the panel industry structure, and the use of intellectual property rights by foreign companies to suppress Chinese companies. Therefore, flat-panel display manufacturers have become a must for the high-end market. For related companies, the liquid crystal industry should be strengthened to enhance overall competitiveness. In particular, new technologies such as low-temperature polysilicon, metal oxides, and oled should be grasped to break through the bottleneck of mass production and realize the industrialization of high-performance display devices, which will form a supporting scale.
