This module combines the advantages of a direct-lit LED light source with a side-lit LED light source. The prototype is ultra-thin and can provide regional dimming (Local Dimming_ and multi-color block full color control) on the screen. It can display numbers and simple patterns. What is more special is that when this LED display module is bent, the brightness and chromaticity of each angle are not affected.
ITRI ​​pointed out that the module uses a combination of LED chip on flexible substrate technology and newly developed zero-gap light diffusion film group. The ultra-thin LED chip on flexible substrate does not require a lamp cup. The thickness of the illumination source is less than 1mm, and can be precisely controlled by any single point of luminosity and chrominance response time; the zero-gap light diffusion film group can directly contact the LED illumination point (Contact), and the LED point can be transmitted through the multi-layer structure. The light source is diffused with high efficiency and exhibits a uniform light-emitting surface with a thickness of less than 1.5 mm, and the combined thickness of the two is only 2.5 mm.
Figure 1 is mainly a comparison of the technical differences. Generally, the module with the light source directly needs a long light source diffusion distance, which results in a thick light source module and gap thickness control. This technology uses a special diffusion diaphragm. Instead of directly contacting the light source, there is no need for a large air gap layer, so it has considerable advantages in assembly and flexing.
Table 1 shows the specifications of the display machine. The full-color brightness exceeds 2000 nits, which is sufficient for indoor and outdoor indication, labeling, advertising and display. The light source module can be attached to any vehicle, such as glass window and plastic board. , desktop plate, wall or wire? U, cement column and other curved surface, the use of light and convenient, can also be used as a local area of ​​white light source (as shown in Figure 3). The ultra-thin thickness (Fig. 4) is less than 2.5mm.
The full-color patterning technique (Fig. 5) can be used to display the desired color patches and patterns on a curved surface or plane by static or dynamic representation as shown in the movie (Fig. 6). The required power is only 1/3-1/2 of the total power consumption. The manufacturing cost is less than 50 US dollars. It can be scaled up or elastically stitched to obtain a larger display area. It is very suitable for domestic LEDs. Vendors develop applications for multimedia products.
