Recently, Malaysian Bright announced that the company has resolved all its patent disputes with OSRAM Opto Semiconductors.
Malaysian Bright is a global leader in SMT LED manufacturing. The company said that this time not only solved the patent dispute, but OSRAM also granted certain patents to Tongliang. Tong Bright said that these patent licenses will allow it to adopt some other technology to enhance their current product portfolio.
It is understood that the patent dispute between the two companies can be traced back more than ten years ago, involving at least 10 different US patents owned by OSRAM, such as lead frame patents, white LED light conversion particle size and other related patents. Tong Bright did not disclose any details of the settlement or licensing agreement with Osram. It is unclear which patents have been granted by OSRAM in the licensing agreement to Malaysia.
