Professor Nakamura Shuji developed a high-brightness blue LED that was considered impossible in the 20th century during his tenure at Japan Nichia Chemical Co., Ltd. in 1993. This outstanding achievement of Professor Nakamura was recognized by the world, and he is expected to become the next Nobel Prize winner. In 2006, he won the Finnish “Millennium Technology Award”, known as the Nobel Prize in the Technology Industry. In 2004, he won the Benjamin Franklin Engineering Medal, which was awarded to Edison and Einstein. At present, Professor Nakamura Shuji is a professor of material properties at the University of Santa Barbara in the United States. He also served as an advisor to Seoul Semiconductor Co., Ltd., a representative company of LED in Korea, and began to participate in the official event of Seoul Semiconductor.
