Intersil Corporation has announced that Sony has decided to widely adopt the revolutionary Intersil Coaxial Cable Security Link (SLOC) technology in its industry-leading network surveillance camera product line. The adoption of SLOC technology in Sony's webcam will help further promote the use of IP video surveillance.
The SLOC technology was developed by the Intersil Techwell team and has been applied to the TW3801 and TW3811. This unique technology allows the simultaneous transmission of analog CVBS video and digital IP video over a single coaxial cable, enabling megapixel IP cameras to operate over existing CCTV coaxial infrastructure with a maximum monitoring distance of 500 meters. This highly efficient hybrid monitoring system supports both latency-free analog CCTV and network IP monitoring capabilities. The SLOC device will be directly applied to Sony's 2011 IP surveillance cameras, providing customers with flexible, non-latency live preview monitoring and traditional real-time PTZ control solutions.
Susan Hardman, senior vice president of analog and mixed-signal divisions at Intersil, said: “Intersil is pleased to be able to cooperate with Sony, which has been a market leader in the popularization of new technologies. Our cooperation will help speed up the IP security system in video surveillance. The development of the market. Our SLOC technology will help Sony to change the prospect of IP video surveillance. Like Sony, we believe that the security monitoring market will continue to develop rapidly."
Mr. Takashi Honda, Deputy General Manager of Sony’s Visual Security Solutions Division, stated: “We are very pleased that Intersil's new technology will help us to provide HD webcam solutions for our existing SD infrastructure to create new products for our customers. We believe that this cooperation will provide broad opportunities for the development of our business in the future."
