According to the latest news, the AQSIQ released a message on the official website today: Samsung will recall products to be sold in mainland China starting from October 11, 2016 under the condition that the AQSIQ’s Law Enforcement Supervision Department conducts interviews and launches defect investigations. All of Note 7, together with the 1858 recalled for the first time on September 14, totaled a total of 190,984 recalls.
The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) stated that as of now, there have been 20 overheating and burning accidents involving Note 7 in the Chinese mainland. In order to protect the personal and property safety of consumers, Samsung (China) Investment Co., Ltd. has stopped producing and selling Note 7 since October 10, 2016, and plans to take the following two measures to recall:
(1) Replace the new Samsung mobile phone with other models free of charge for consumers, and refund the difference between the two products and present a shopping voucher of 300 yuan;
(2) A full refund of the original purchase price and recycling of the product.
Consumers can contact the original distributors directly for related issues such as returns and exchanges. They can also learn more about Samsung's customer service hotline (400-810-5858) and choose one of the two types of recalls. If there is a way for consumers to choose mailing, the resulting postal charges will also be borne by Samsung (China) Investment Co., Ltd.
This morning, Samsung has issued a statement on its foreign official website that it is working with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) to investigate the recently reported Galaxy Note 7 mobile phone issue. It also requires the user of the Note 7 original handset and the replacement machine to shut down and stop using it. At the same time, it requires all global operators and retail partners to stop Galaxy Note 7 sales and replacement.
It has been confirmed that Note 7 is currently officially delisted on all official platforms such as Jingdong, Tmall, Suning, Gome, and Samsung Mall.
