Launched 98-inch solar street light in Chengyang District, Qingdao

On the 21st, the reporter learned from Qingdao Chengyang Environmental Protection Bureau that the 98-inch solar street light installed on the 3,400-meter Changjiang Road in Chengyang District was officially opened. This is the longest road in Qingdao that uses solar street lights. After the solar street light is put into use, it can save more than 100,000 yuan of electricity every year and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 68 million liters.

According to the relevant person in charge of Chengyang Environmental Protection Bureau, in order to promote low carbon, the Liuting Sub-district Office of Chengyang District invested 2 million yuan to replace all the 98-inch street lamps on the Yangtze River Road with a total length of 3,400 meters into solar street lamps. The 98-inch solar street light in this section can save more than 125,000 electricity per year, which saves electricity costs by more than 100,000 yuan per year. According to the calculation of 544 liters of carbon dioxide emission reduction per 1 degree of electricity reduction, the road section can achieve 68 million liters of carbon dioxide emission reduction per year, saving cable laying and cable maintenance costs, and effectively avoiding cable theft incidents.
