The optimization of voice recognition technology has never stopped. I remember that in Microsoft Office 2003, local voice recognition technology has been added. At that time, voice recognition not only had to "learn" in advance, but the recognition accuracy and speed were unsatisfactory. Then, Apple Siri began to accelerate the popularity of voice recognition on mobile phones. For voice recognition of TV products, there are mainly three aspects. On the one hand, it is the hardware foundation, including whether the underlying hardware can correctly collect voice data, and whether WiFi + BT transmission is reliable. The second is speech recognition technology. Most of the current speech recognition is provided by several companies including HKUST, Sogou, and going out. In theory, as long as the same technology supplier is used, the accuracy of speech recognition will not deviate. too much. The third is the optimization of the TV system, so that speech recognition can have more applications.
In order to verify the difference in voice recognition, we have found three TV products including Xiaomi TV 4a and Micro Whale for comparison.

From the overall specification table, many netizens will feel that this is the rhythm of Xiaomi TV 4A wireless configuration specifications to kill the same level of products. But if you look closely, Xiaomi TV 4A actually uses a single-issue single-receive 1T1R antenna design! . The other three products of the comparison all adopt the design of double sending and double receiving.
Where is the lack of single receipt? Let's take an example. Even if the Xiaomi TV 4A wireless network card uses a Ferrari-level chip, it is like driving on the Beijing Second Ring Road in the morning and evening peaks. Test 1: Xiaomi's wireless transmission in the shielded room is almost completely defeated
First tested the wireless rate transmission (the larger the data, the better), we see that at 2.4G frequency, the WiFi transmission of Xiaomi TV 4A presents a disadvantage, which is not as good as the three products of Micro Whale TV. In the 5G test environment, the micro-whale mainstream TV 2 does not support 5G transmission. The millet TV 4A using the 802.11AC protocol is better than the 802.11n micro-whale mainstream TV products.
In span testing, we use laboratory attenuation instead of span testing. From the experimental data, Xiaomi is slightly lower than the micro-whale mainstream program, and the micro-whale high-matching program differs by 10 meters + (6dB); at a stable rate (less than 90% of the rate at 0dB), Xiaomi is less than the micro-whale program. The distance is 2 meters (5dB) larger.

This test is a test of a family scenario. 1m / 3m simulates the typical living room scene, 5m is the bedroom scene, and 10m is the extreme wall penetration scene.
Let's take a look at the comparison test results of the two models of Xiaomi TV 4A and Micro Whale High-end TV: Xiaomi 4A is not as competitive as Micro Whale at 1 meter and 3 meters, about 80%. It is better than the micro-whale product in a 5 meter environment, but it is 30% worse than the micro-whale product at a distance of 10 meters (consistent with the conclusion of the stable rate pull-down test)
Increase the Bluetooth coexistence experiment, Xiaomi can't compete with the micro whale in all scenarios. But looking at the coexistence decay, the rate of the corresponding distance between the micro-whale and millet has declined, and the millet has a greater decline, and the coexistence performance is not as good as the micro-whale.

Then we compare the performance degradation of the four TVs when WiFi and Bluetooth are transmitted simultaneously. In the 2.4G coexistence scenario, when BT has long voice, the Wi-Fi experience declines, and Mi 4A is the worst. It affects more than 50% (1T1R), followed by the micro-whale mainstream product 2 with a total of Rx solutions, affecting nearly 29%. This proves our previous prediction of design flaws in single issue and single receipt. (The ring road is blocked!)

Whether the insufficient performance of WiFi + BT will affect, we also conducted a supplementary test for voice recognition. Both Xiaomi TV 4A and Micro Whale TV emphasized the voice recognition technology. The former is technically supported by going out to ask and Sogou, and Micro Whale TV voice recognition technology It comes from HKUST Xunfei. We measured the comparison of the speech recognition rate in the range of 3 meters, 5 meters and 7 meters. From the results, Xiaomi 4A is slightly inferior to the micro-whale products, and there is basically a 20% gap.
Wireless is a technological trend. In the future, more products and technologies will be realized through "wireless" methods. As a TV product, the wireless way can make the TV's surroundings more beautiful. The "meter line" in Xiaomi TV just needs to solve the cable constraints. Unfortunately, Xiaomi TV 4A has obvious shortcomings compared to the micro-whale TV in this comparison. The real voice service should be comprehensive optimization from hardware to software.
