On the afternoon of May 5, 2017, China's first international mainstream C919, the first international mainstream aircraft developed by COMAC, made its first flight at Shanghai Pudong International Airport.

The C919 was designed by China Commercial Aircraft Shanghai Aircraft Design and Research Institute. This research institute has designed passenger aircraft such as the 10th and ARJ21. As early as August 18, 2014, it was reported that the first batch of lighting control panel components and dimming control system test pieces of C919 aircraft were delivered in Shanghai. This is the first system independently developed by domestic system suppliers.
