In May of this year, Hyperloop One conducted a "first phase" test of its super high-speed rail system on a test track in North Las Vegas. At the time, Hyperloop One completed the first "full vacuum condition" test of Super High Speed ​​Rail.
At that time, the test focused on "full vacuum conditions", so the test time was short, the test car ran only 5.3 seconds in the vacuum pipeline, and the maximum speed was only 70 mph (about 113 km / h). This time, the test car ran nearly 500 meters, the highest speed reached 310 km / hour.
Operating in a full vacuum environment is equivalent to flying at an altitude of approximately 200,000 feet (60,960 meters). At such heights, the air resistance is small, ensuring faster flight speeds. After completing the first phase of testing, Hyperloop One said that in the next phase of the test, the goal was to increase the speed of the super high-speed rail to 250 mph (about 402 km / h).
To achieve this speed, a longer distance test runway is also required. This time, on the test track of 500 meters, the test vehicle accelerated phase used 300 meters. After the official operation in the future, the speed of the super high-speed rail can reach 500 mph (about 805 km / h).
